O ma se oooo...An Outstanding Governor who bagged the Financial standard governor of the year award within 18 months in office surpassing the likes of Fashola of Lagos state and all other working governors in Nigeria.
Just of recent, this same Governor was awarded the Achiever of our time award by Radio Nigeria due to his exemplary leadership and trail blazing initiatives. Various projects commissioned was lauded by international organisations such as UNICEF, World bank, WHO, UN etc.
What amazes me is, despite all these outstanding achievements and accomplishments, some citizens of the state have vowed to make sure Olusegun Mimiko is frustrated owing to the fact that they have not benefited financially as usual. They criticise all his achievements and when they realise there is nothing to hold against Mr governor, they paint his projects as either over-inflated or too slow.
Well, these people are not really new in Ondo state polity, they are same people who have ladened their pockets with the wealth of the state. Their inability to further enrich themselves spurred up bitterness and rage against the governor and they are hell bent on embarking on the most ridiculous avenues in order to sabotage the effort of a working governor although, Mimiko may not have met everyone's expectation but the fact remains that if you haven't visited Ondo state in about 2 years, touching down now will give u a new picture which signifies a working hand in many areas of the state.
When will the politics of bitterness end in Nigeria?. It is now abvious that Nigerians are the obstacles to the development of Nigeria. So many youths have also been indoctrinated into believing that until they all have jobs, the Governor remains a failure so, they fail to see the laudable and outstanding projects which are obvious to the good citizens of the state and international organisations. The question is , how many state governors has wiped out unemployment ? They forget that unemployment is only tackled through industralisation and commercialisation which remains an illusion in Nigeria owing to the inability to meeet the power(electricity) needs of the country. Even right now, America and Europe battle with the highest levels of unemployment in decades.
I wonder why our youths cannot sit back and reason as to why these people who discredit the governor at any available opportunity are so bittered, angry and ready to destroy the image of the state through ridiculous propaganda and fraudulent accusations. The truth is, they want to steal your money shikena. As the popular saying goes,"Rome was not built in a day". Imagine if past administrations had impemented a quarter of Mimiko's projects, we may be talking of a totally new Ondo state by now..
The people of Ondo state, open your eyes and let your brains do the working.Over the years politicians have fed us with futile hopes but now, we have a man who is gradually reviving our infrastructures that will pave way for opportunities in the nearest future. If you sabotage these efforts, I can bet you will weep in the shortest time. Let your conscience guide you.God bless you, God bless Mr Governor, God bless Ondo state.
